Head Rancher:
Owned & Operated by Glenda Hamilton, Certified Veterinary Assistant and Fourth generation animal lover. She has 29 years experience with pets, having the pleasure of helping them through all stages of life. Formerly a Kennel Technician, she has had two years experience working with all sizes and breeds of dogs, and cats, who had varying degrees of temperaments and medical needs. She delights in the transformation of a shy pet blossoming into a social butterfly, through her acts of kindness, understanding and patience.
Sheriff:
RIP: We are very sad to announce the passing of our Momma Bear July 22nd, 2010.
Maxine Mabel, Certified to keep the rowdies in line! She was rescued from the lonely streets of Victoria, and adopted from Greater Victoria Animal Crusaders in 2008. As a 12 year old gentle giant of Husky and German Shepherd lineage, she was a comfort to the little guys and a friend to the larger ones. She quickly became central to the organization of our Ranch as the Alpha Dog. Many of the daycare doggies learned their manners from our Momma Bear. We will miss her in so many ways, especially her announcement of meal times with a resounding "ha-roo", that only a Husky can do! Long Live our Queen.

Reception Host
Oreo Willoughby, our 11 year old handsome devil, who loves to greet the women from the perch of the desk. With a face like a Teddy Bear and a voice of an Ewok, it is love at first sight! He looks shy, but when he warms up he loves a good game of rough and tumble, with his toys, like all Cowboys do.
Belle of the Ball
RIP: We are very sad to announce the passing of our Annie Bella on Oct 16, 2011
Annie Bella was our newest addition. This 15 year old Cocker Spaniel graciously shared her space with anyone who needed a soft spot to rest, and was thankful to those who moved over for her too. Though a little blind and a little deaf, she could still hear the cookie jar opening. So when we saw Annie on the run it must be cookie time!! She always delighted us with her "boogey woogey" dance for her dinner at 5pm, and her overly enthusiastic way of making her "nest". We will miss seeing her shuffling around the daycare in a bright warm sweater, and a flower clip on her collar. Shuffle on Dear Girl, Shuffle on...
Fellow Ranchers:
Lisa
Lisa's greatest gift is her unwavering compassion for the pets. She delights in supervising their funny antics. She has a real soft spot for the senior dogs, and can been seen daily walking them on the Senior Sniff & Shuffle trail. She loves that, though they don't move very quickly, they still love to smell the grass & flowers. Congratulations Lisa on your 2nd Anniversary at the Ranch!
Paige and her dog Abby (not seen in the photo)
Paige can be seen on the floor giving belly rubs, or up on a ladder getting rid of dust bunnies. If it needs to be done, Paige gets it done! Whether she is wrestling with the Cowboys, or interacting with new Clients, she always has a smile on her face. Congratulations Paige on your 2nd Anniversary at the Ranch!
Shannon and her dog Pippin
Shannon specializes in making the new Cowboys & Girls feel welcome. She makes sure they are meeting new friends, finding the water bowls regularly, and know where the potty-place is. She loves witnessing the development of their characters, as they learn to be "Cowboys". Congratulations Shannon on your 1yr Anniversary at the Ranch!
Danyne
Danyne's favourite work activity is taking the dogs out for the group walks. She loves teaching the new dogs the rules of the road & walking as a pack. It is a wonderful feeling to lead a group of dogs in harmony and happiness - just another day at the office! Congratulations Danyne on your 1yr Anniversary at the Ranch!
Ron and his dog Scrappy (not seen in the photo)
Besides tending to the care of the Cowboys, Ron is the facility maintenance Guru. If it needs fixing, Ron will think of a way to fix it. And with all these pups around, there is always fixing to be done! He especially delights in "fixing" a shy dog into a happy confident one. Congratulations Ron on your 1yr Anniversary at the Ranch!
Cara: our newest addition to the Rancher Roll Call. Photo & Bio coming soon.
Volunteer Sean and his dog Hamm
Sean is a Rancher of all trades. From teaching new Cowboys new manners to fixing the facility as needed, Sean jumps right in to lend a hand. He is a calming influence to the nervous dogs. At one with himself and the environment, you can see Sean biking to work every week, with his dog Hamm (and sometimes his cat William!) in tow in the bike trailer. Congratulations Sean on your 2+ yr Anniversary at the Ranch!
With eight Ranchers around everyday, and three volunteers, the Cowboys & Cowgirls are sure to be safe, happy and well loved while in our care. Come on in and meet the Gang!!
