We are pleased to foster dogs up for adoption through Greater Victoria Animal Crusaders & CRD:
Current Dogs Up for Adoption:
Eddy: This handsome boy is a 13yr old Jack Russel/ Beagle X, looking for a new home since his elderly owner could no longer care for him. Now that he has had extensive dental, lost some weight, and is on a high quality food, he is feeling and looking so much better. He is getting along with all the dogs at the daycare, but prefers if they mind their own business and don't jump around him. Eddy would prefer a home without small children just so they don't poke at him, and with either no other dogs or ones that are calm. He is fine with cats and birds. He really is a people-dog, preferring to hang out with you on the couch after having a yummy snack. The vet says he has good heart/lung function, which is evident with his high stepping, jaunty walk for about an hour twice a day. If you would like to provide a home for this little man, please contact us directly at the Ranch to fill out an application. (250) 388-3647.
Leo: This adorable 4-5 mth old pup wants to be a very large Lab mix when he grows up. Though he is deaf, and blind in one eye, he sure does race around being a playful pup as just about anyone! He gets along with all the dogs here at daycare, and loves to take his cues from watching them, since he can't hear what is happening. Leo would do very well in an active family, ideally one with another friendly dog he can pal-around with so he can follow their example, or one with children 8yrs & older, since he can't always see where he is going and might accidentally knock over a smaller child. He knows some manners of sit, stay, shake a paw, and is crate trained, and walks very well on a leash. (We keep it a short leash so he doesn't accidentally wander into the street). We are fostering him for the Broken Promises Rescue Organization
If you have the right home for this sweetie, contact Broken Promises Rescue for an application form via www.brokenpromisesrescue.com or phone 250-818-6643.
Lily: ADOPTED!!! Our newest foster dog is Lily, a lovely and lively 10yr LabX with soulful eyes and beautiful Russet coat. She was found by CRD wondering around by herself. When no one claimed her she came to play with us. After being vet checked, and getting updated on her shots, we have fattened her up to the right weight. Now she is ready for her forever home! Lily will make a great companion for someone who is able to take her for short strolls, give her lots of love, and give her great food. She loves her food and attention from anyone who will pat her. Even at her age, she loves to play fetch - well, more like "catch", ie: she will catch and you will have to fetch it back! If you are interested in adopting Lily, contact Broken Promises Rescue.
Gromette: ADOPTION PENDING!! Gromette was recently found as a stray. He is an adorable little black dog who seems to be of Malti-poo genes, though who really knows. He seems to be about 3-5 years old, and very spunky. Now that he has been neutered and had a big dentistry treatment, he is feeling a whole lot healthier and happier. He would make an excellent pet for anyone, as he can be playful or he can just be happy to rest near you on the couch. Contact www.animalcrusaders.ca for adoption applications.
Riley: ADOPTED!! Riley is a handsome 2 yo large yellow Golden Doodle. He came to us through no fault of his own - just a change in his former-family's circumstances. He makes a great companion for any family or individual. He is really calm when in the house, or really playful when outside and with his friends. He loves to be handled: brushing, grooming, bathing, nail trimming or just plain old belly rubs, he doesn't mind any sort of attention. Riley will need to go to a family or individual who is willing to teach him recall (he can't be off leash yet, until he gets his excitement/curiosity under control), and to continue to teach him proper manners when meeting new dogs on leash. He is very playful once he has met the dog, but requires supervised introductions. Contact Victoria Adoptables for an adoption application.
